This page outlines the basic policies and procedures that govern the operation
of this site. Those considering advertising or
otherwise doing business with goBrevard.net (such as Web
page design or Web site hosting) should
carefully read this page. Others will also find it instructive as to our
general philosophy.
In collecting the material for this page, we have borrowed from many resources. We appreciate the efforts of those who have gone before us in collecting data and gathering information about Brevard and Transylvania County. We have tried to ask permission for the use or reproduction of any material when it seemed appropriate and to credit any source when applicable, but this was simply, logistically not always possible. If we have “stepped on any toes” or infringed on anyone’s “sacred territory” (i.e. copyrighted material), just let us know, and we will make every reasonable effort to rectify the situation.
The material that makes up the bulk of the goBrevard.net site is primarily public information available to anyone. The special site images (such as goBrevard.net logos) and page layouts are the property of goBrevard.net Unauthorized duplication of goBrevard.net generated graphics, page layouts, and other material deemed to be the property of goBrevard.net is prohibited without prior written permission.
This guide is intended to be just that – a guide – to the Brevard and Transylvania County area. In order for goBrevard.net to be truly objective in it’s representation of the area, it must be understood that
Any business or organization within the area served that satisfies the guidelines set forth herein may have a free listing on the appropriate page of this guide.
Other than the obvious of presenting material that will be useful to anyone interested in the Brevard area, goBrevard.net is designed to be a completely legal and wholesome family site that anyone, no matter what age, can visit without fear of encountering problems. That means that we must screen and insist that any links, advertisers, or other resources on our site meet this same criteria. Consequently, there can be no material or links to sites on goBrevard.net that do (or may) contain
Luckily, it’s really not hard to adhere to these standards in a community like Brevard. In fact, thus far, we haven’t had to reject a single site for content reasons!
And, that brings us to this point. We are the sole and final judge as the suitability of a site for inclusion in goBrevard.net. A free listing does NOT guarantee a listing. That’s it; it’s just that straightforward. (It’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it!) If a site is found to have become unsuitable, the owner would always be given the reason(s) why and an adequate period of time to rectify the situation. Should the situation be deemed to be of a really severe nature, then the site may be temporarily removed until the problem is corrected. Failure to remedy the offending part of the site would result in permanent removal.
We will never sell, rent, swap, give away, or otherwise release any lists or other information that identifies individual subscribers to the services to goBrevard.net. Only statistical data, such as number of hits per day or click through ratios, will be used for advertising or other commercial purposes. (If someone else gets your e-mail address and spams you, it won’t be because of us!)
As previously mentioned, goBrevard.net is a guide to the Brevard and Transylvania County area and as such, any business or organization meeting our criteria (stated above) may have a free listing on the appropriate page. Those entities wishing to advertising or take advantage of our Web page design or Web site hosting services can find details on the fees for these services on the respective pages. Unless other arrangements have been made in advance, all billing for services will be invoiced within 10 days of the completion of those services as “due in full upon receipt.” Any bill not paid within 30 days of receipt is subject to having the service immediately discontinued.
All payments should be by check or money order made payable to “Nancy Pearson.”
The following policy on refunds applies:
Refund checks will be issued within 30 days of the date of termination of services.
